An American Delta IV rocket in the (5,4) configuration successfully blasted off from Space Launch Complex 37 at Cape Canaveral today, August 8th 2013 at 00:29 UTC. The 23rd flight of the Delta IV carried the US Air Force's WGS-6 satellite into orbit.
WGS-6 (Wideband Global Satcom) has a planned life of atleast 14 years and with it's X-band and Ka-Band transponders will provide coverage for the United States.
